Chloe Smith, Member of Parliament for Norwich North, today visited the Norwich Royal Mail depot on Thorpe Road, beginning at 7am.
She was given a tour of the facility on Thorpe Road before meeting Royal Mail employees to discuss local employment issues. She has corresponded to date with local members of the Communication Workers’ Union (CWU) and is seeking to see Royal Mail’s local operations for herself.
Chloe comments: “I strongly support Royal Mail as a flourishing employer here in Norwich. I have always argued that the Government should be looking for new ways to increase the revenue of the Post Office, to make it sustainable and available for all of us who want to keep on using it at the heart of the community. I want to hear Royal Mail’s views now – and the opinions of posties and all the other staff.”
